You do not need new furniture to sleep better. A few small, repeatable changes can make your room feel like somewhere to rest instead of somewhere to scroll.

  1. Lower the lights early. Switch to a lamp or a warm, dim bulb for the last hour of the evening.
  2. Keep it cool and quiet. A slightly cool room and a soft, steady sound tend to feel more restful than a warm, silent one.
  3. Park the phone. Face down, across the room, or in another room entirely. Use a simple alarm if you can.
  4. Choose one soundscape. Rain, fire, or both — and keep it the same for a while so it becomes familiar.
  5. Let the screen go dark. Pick videos that fade to black, like the one below, so light does not keep you up.

Start with one step tonight. Add another next week.
